Two weeks after the first-ever Girls on Rock expedition in Colorado's wild Gore Range, we take a look back: It was inspiring to watch our team of nine young women fully embrace science and the wild outdoors.

The Mammut Pro Team athlete Jan Hojer has become the third person to complete a successful ascent of Es Pontas, after Chris Sharma and Jernej Kruder. Jan climbed this spectacular route above the open sea in Mallorca without a rope in deep water solo style.

Mammut Pro Team Athlete Dani Arnold has set a new record time on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses. At the end of July, the 34-year-old climbed the Walker Spur (4,208 meters) in the Mont Blanc massif on the Cassin route in 2 hours and 4 minutes.

After their first attempt in 2017 failed, Marek Holeček and his climbing partner, Zdeněk Hák, returned to the Himalayas in May this year for a second attempt to reach the summit of the 6186 meter high Kyajo Ri, climbing a new route.

In September 2019, Dani Arnold sets a new record time at the Cima Grande. The Mammut Pro Team Athlete climbs the north face over the Comici-Dimai route in 46 minutes and 30 seconds. The 35 years old now holds the speed record on four of Europe’s six major north faces.

Pro Team Athlete Caro North talks about Expedition Antarctica: “My main concerns were about sailing the Drake Passage, as I didn’t have a great deal of sailing experience - and none at all on open sea. It is also one of the most notorious sea passages, renowned for its harsh weather and turbulent waters.

A few years ago, the Swiss freeskier and Mammut Pro Team athlete Jérémie Heitz set himself a challenge: to ski down the slopes, some with gradients of up to 55 degrees, of the most breathtaking 4,000-meter peaks in the Alps – at speeds reaching 120 kilometers per hour.

Cadarese is a small Italian village surrounded by farmland. A river flows through the valley and the hum of the hydroelectric plant and thunderous booming of the quarries makes it an unlikely climbing destination - natural beauty meets industry.

I’ve travelled to all four corners of the globe on hiking trips, but I’m hard-pressed to think of anywhere more beautiful than the view in front of me right now.
